The NYC SEAL Swim is a multi-sport, open-water event on the Hudson River that unites former Navy SEALs, veterans, police officers, firefighters, and first responders from across the country in a shared tribute to service and sacrifice. It is sponsored by Beyond the Brotherhood.
The day begins at the Empty Sky Memorial in Liberty State Park, NJ, where swimmers carry American flags to the Green Field and form a giant flag circle for patriotic parachutists to land inside. From Flag Plaza, swimmers enter the Hudson and swim to a barge beside the Statue of Liberty for 100 honor pushups and 22 pull-ups for our nation's freedoms, then on to a barge near Ellis Island for another 100 pushups and 22 pull-ups honoring our nation's diversity.
Swimmers exit the river back at Empty Sky Memorial and complete a final 100 pushups and 22 pull-ups in honor of those lost on 9/11, Extortion 17, and all who have put it on the line for our nation, finishing with a patriotic flag run to the Hyatt Regency on the Hudson in Jersey City, NJ.
